Alaves Coach Mauricio Pellegrino has praised his former teammate and current Barcelona Coach Luis Enrique ahead of the Copa Del Rey final.
Pellegrino and Enrique played together for a season at the Camp Nou in 1998-99, saying Enrique ‘helped him a lot’ on their way to that season’s La Liga title.
"Luis Enrique helped me a lot at the club and I admire him," Pellegrino told reporters ahead of Saturday’s Copa Del Rey final.
"Lucho’s time at Barcelona has been a success, there can be no doubt about it, the club has changed a lot and they are living a golden age.
"They are an admirable opponent for what they've achieved and because of their football identity, it will be an honour to compete against them and try to defeat them.
"To impose yourself with the ball is the most difficult thing because Barcelona have been perfecting that for 20 years."
