Trio lead chase for Sevilla’s Vitolo

Atletico Madrid and Manchester City have joined Barcelona in the race for Sevilla winger Vitolo this summer, according to Spanish reports.

According to Radio Marca Sevilla, the Andalucians have been made aware of ‘strong interest’ from the three clubs in the Spain international, who has enjoyed a stellar campaign at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan.

The 27-year-old has a €40m release clause at Los Rojiblancos and this is seen as affordable by all three clubs who are keen to strengthen their attacking ranks this summer, says the report.

As yet, Atleti do not know if their FIFA transfer ban will be lifted for the summer transfer window but Diego Simeone is a long-term admirer of the winger and would be willing to make his signing a priority this summer.

The Blaugrana have been linked to the former Las Palmas man for months but any new deals would need to be sanctioned by Luis Enrique’s replacement at Camp Nou while despite City’s interest they are ‘a long way from a concrete offer’.

Reports in France last month stated Paris Saint-Germain also hold an interest in the Sevilla star.
