Only a win will do for Sporting Gijon at Eibar on Sunday if they are to remain in La Liga next season.
Eibar boss Jose Luis Mendilibar on the threat posed by Sporting: “They’re going to do everything they possibly can because they can only win the game and wait.
“Many people from Gijon will come down and that’ll help them give everything on the pitch.
“That they’re playing for more than us doesn’t mean that they’ll do better because nerves don’t let you do what you should.”
Sporting boss Rubi on his side’s chances of survival: “I’m a man of faith, so it’d be unforgivable for us to drop our arms now. There are possibilities of avoiding relegation.
“Some players were down after Leganes’ win last Monday, but as the week’s gone by, everything has returned to normal.”
