Betis sign Sergio Leon – report

Real Betis have agreed a deal to sign Osasuna’s in-demand striker Sergio Leon for €3.5m, according to reports in Spain.

Diario de Navarra have announced the deal has been struck between the two clubs to bring Leon – who has hit ten goals and has impressed for already-relegated Osasuna this campaign – to the Benito Villamarin.

Earlier this week, Los Verdiblancos president Angel Haro admitted the club were ‘in talks’ with the 28-year-old striker and his representatives regarding a move.

Betis sporting director Miguel Torrecilla was known to be an admirer of the striker, who netted 22 goals for Elche in last season’s Segunda.

The move has been sanctioned despite the current managerial hot-seat at the Seville-based club being empty following the dismissal of Victor Sanchez del Amo.
