Malaga pessimistic on Sandro future

Malaga Coach Michel has admitted the club will struggle to stop in-demand striker Sandro joining Premier League side Everton.

The Toffees boss Ronald Koeman was at La Rosaleda alongside Sandro's agent, Gines Carvajal, to watch the former Barcelona forward in action against Celta Vigo – where he impressed and netted a late goal.

The Costa Del Sol club are reportedly willing to offer the 21-year-old an increased salary and higher buyout clause (currently set at €6m) but are not optimistic he will remain at the club beyond the current season.

"Sandro is in demand. We cannot keep him if he doesn't want to continue,” Michel told Diario Sur.

"He is crucial, but so are others. We can't do anything more than all the efforts we have made, and all we have to do is wait for his decision."

However, teammate Jose Recio, who also netted on Sunday, told Cadena Ser radio: "If I had to bet, I would say he will stay.

"He has to value the love that he has from the people, the club, the coach and his teammates. I really hope he can be here with us next season."
