Berizzo to draw on Bielsa plan

Eduardo Berizzo hopes his Celta Vigo side can continue Manchester United’s poor form in Spain to give the Galicians a platform for the Europa League final.

The Red Devils have only won twice in 22 previous visits to Spain and the Argentine, a disciple of Marcelo Bielsa, is hopeful of drawing on their defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the same competition five years ago.

"We hope first of all that the statistics stay as they are, just two wins away from England," Celta Coach Berizzo said.

"I was a witness of Marcelo Bielsa's match with Athletic Bilbao against Manchester United (Europa League, 2012) and he found a tactical solution to that match and that might be a clue for us to follow.

"Manchester United know what they are doing: how to manage the times, the pace, the defence, the attack.

"We want to go to Manchester with a chance of winning, a result that gives us a chance of winning and the only way of doing that, really, is being faithful to our own game."
