Carvajal out for season?

Real Madrid full back Dani Carvajal could miss the rest of the season after suffering a hamstring injury against Atletico Madrid.

The club confirmed the 25-year-old underwent tests on Wednesday morning to determine the extent of the injury, which clarified he suffered a Grade II injury of the hamstring muscle, which usually rules players out for between three and four weeks.

The Spain international will certainly miss out on the second leg against Atletico next Wednesday and is very unlikely to play again in La Liga this season, with a possible Champions League final at the end of the month a possibility.

Carvajal landed awkwardly after jumping for a challenge with Saul Niguez just before the break and was substituted off at half-time.

Zinedine Zidane is likely to replace the Leganes-native with either Nacho Fernandez, who is more naturally a centre-half, or the out-of-favour Brazilian full-back Danilo.
