Sergio Ramos believes Real Madrid are able ‘to make the most’ of Cristiano Ronaldo’s great form which makes them ‘a different team’.
The Portuguese star hit a hat-trick in Tuesday’s 3-0 demolition of Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi final first leg – meaning he’s scored eight goals in his last three appearances in the competition, and 103 overall, a tournament record.
“He had to undergo a doping test so we couldn’t see him after the game,” Ramos told reporters after the match at the Bernabeu.
“Obviously when Cristiano is in good form Real Madrid make the most of it, I want to congratulate him because he’s unique.
“When he is in his run of good form than we are a different team.
"We had a flawless game in which are objective was not to just attack. The clean-sheet was just as important.
“The subs were made to maintain our high pressure and it paid off. One of those games where everything clicked.
"We have taken an important step tonight but we can't back down. We must remain cool and look to win in the second leg too."
