Barca chase Nice’s Seri – report

Barcelona are working on a deal to sign Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri this summer, according to reports in Spain.

The Ivory Coast international has won many plaudits in his first two seasons in Ligue 1 following a 2015 move from Pacos de Ferreira and El Mundo Deportivo state the Catalan giants are keen on a transfer.

The 25-year-old has also been linked to English side Southampton – which would see him reunited with former Coach Claude Puel – while Everton and Leicester City have also been linked.

Seri has reportedly told the French club that Barca are his ‘dream destination’ and the report suggests the Blaugrana are now keen on a deal as they see any move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti as unrealistic.

The diminutive midfielder is known for his energy and eye for a pass, with Mundo Deportivo nicknaming him ‘the African Xavi’ with the outlet concluding: “if they want Seri, they’ll definitely get him”.
