Zidane hails ‘phenomenal’ Isco

Zinedine Zidane hailed Isco for a “phenomenal performance” during Real Madrid’a 6-2 victory over Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday.

Isco hit double figures in La Liga for the first time in his career at Riazor as he took full advantage of Madrid’s big names being given the night off, and Zidane was enamoured by how the midfielder was “doing things on the pitch that not everyone can do”.

“We had many chances, but we must be happy with how everyone played,” the Coach said after the game.

“What we did was phenomenal, in terms of rhythm, sincerity from beginning to end… I’m very happy with how everyone played.

“Isco and James? I’m happy for how they played and their goals, but I’m satisfied with everyone, the good thing is that those who play less are getting stuck in. The players are very well physically and want to play.

“Now the difficulty is mine. Are you going to tell a player that played [in this game] that they won’t in the next one? Despite this, we need them all.

“Isco’s performance was phenomenal, he’s doing things on the pitch that not everyone can do. The fans acknowledged him and I’m very happy for him.

“Champions League? It’ll complicate things for me, but we have another match on Saturday and the good thing is that we‘re all plugged in, that’s the most important thing.

“BBC? The debate will always be there, but I’ll stick with that everyone’s important. We’ll go game by game with the team, picking the players …

“Telling them after this performance that they won’t play in the next game is complicated, but they understand it. We have a phenomenal squad.

“’Team A and B’? For me, we don’t have two teams because everyone’s playing well.

“We’re all together in the same boat it’s going to be like this until the end of the season.”
