Controversy mars Alaves draw

Ibai Gomez’s controversial equaliser in the second half earned Alaves a point against 10-man Las Palmas at Estadio de Gran Canaria.

Kevin-Prince Boateng lobbed home from Tana's pass for his 10th goal of the season just before the break to give the hosts a well deserved lead.

The Basques equalised just after the hour mark from Gomez’s well placed effort but the goal was somewhat curiously allowed to stand despite Deyverson blatantly obstructing the view of goalkeeper Raul Lizoain.

Quique Setien’s side were reduced to 10 men three minutes from time when substitute Marko Livaja was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Marcos Llorente.

Las Palmas remain 13th, two places and five points behind Alaves.
