Betis overpower second string Celta

Real Betis secured their first back-to-back victories in over a year thanks to an away win at a much-changed Celta Vigo on Sunday.

Having defeated high-flying Eibar last week, Los Verdiblancos put any lingering relegation fears to bed thanks to Serbian Darko Brasanac’s 54th minute headed winner in Balaidos.

The Galicians had made nine changes from the side who progressed to the Europa League semi finals in Genk on Thursday, and were outplayed by a Betis side who appear to be regaining confidence.

The Andalucians racked up 13 efforts but it was Darko’s header from Riza Durmisi’s pinpoint delivery early in the second half which proved decisive.

Victory further relieves some of the growing pressure on Betis boss Victor Sanchez del Amo, who’s side are now 14th in the standings and 14 points clear of relegation, four places behind Celta.
