Thomas Vermaelen is set to end his loan spell at AS Roma from Barcelona at the end of the season as the Italian giants no longer want him.
According to reports, the Serie A side have passed up on their option to sign the Belgian defender on a permanent deal following a loan stint which has seen him make only four league starts for the Giallorossi.
Tuttomercatoweb is stating the Italian capital side have decided not to take up their option on Vermaelen, so he will return to the Blaugrana at the end of the season.
