Vidal rages at Madrid ‘robbery’

Arturo Vidal raged at Bayern Munich’s “robbery” against Real Madrid as the referee “embarrassed” his side and “knocked us out”.

Vidal was wrongly sent off for two yellow cards at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, having clearly won the ball with his sliding tackle on Marco Asensio, and he unsurprisingly did not pull any punches in his assessment of Viktor Kassai.

“This robbery can’t happen in the Champions League, we felt it a lot and you start to wonder a bit,” the midfielder said after the Germans’ Champions League elimination.

“We wanted to go through and there’s a lot of anger in that a match of such magnitude is decided by the referee.

“He made a lot of mistakes and knocked us out of the Champions League.

“When [referees] embarrass you like that, it’s really hard to take. It makes you very angry."
