Alves wants Valencia commitment

Diego Alves will not force a move from Valencia this summer despite reports stating the club would be open to selling the goalkeeper.

Deporte Valeciano report Los Che are preparing to put the 31-year-old up for sale this summer due to concerns over his recent form and the fact he is among the team's highest earners alongside Enzo Perez and Dani Parejo.

"I know that my face will be in the newspapers this summer, but I have a contract and I want to respect it," Alves is quoted as telling beIN SPORTS by Superdeporte.

Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Sevilla was the former Almeria goalkeeper’s sixth clean sheet in 30 La Liga appearances this season for Valencia and has a league record 24 penalty saves – from 50 penalties faced, 48 of which have been on target.

The Brazilian’s contract at the Mestalla is due to run until June 2019 and is challenged at the club by Australia international Mat Ryan and Jaume Domenech.
