“Don’t go to Barca to defend”

Dani Alves has warned Juventus about going to Barcelona to defend their 3-0 lead, and admitted it was “strange” facing his old club.

Alves left Catalonia for Turin last summer after eight years at Camp Nou, and on Tuesday night faced his former teammates for the first time.

“It was a strange feeling. I think I just wanted to do my job and help my team. The joy of my current colleagues is the same as I feel, but I also feel the sadness of my ex-colleagues. I prefer to keep my happiness to myself. Above all I have respect for everything I experienced,” Alves said, Mundo Deportivo reports.

The Brazil international also looked ahead to the return leg and offered advice to Juve Coach Massimiliano Allegri.

“You can’t go to Camp Nou to defend, because if you need to score a goal…You have to go for the game, to do difficult things and try to wrap up the qualification,” he insisted.
