Victor: Betis anger at dropped points

Real Betis Coach Victor Sanchez del Amo has described the ‘anger’ and ‘frustration’ at the club with so many late dropped points in La Liga.

Los Verdiblancos conceded two late goals to fall to defeat at Espanyol on Friday night after recent dropped points late on against Real Madrid, Deportivo La Coruna, Sevilla and Barcelona.

“We are angry because we have missed out on a lot of points that we have deserved,” Victor told his press conference ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Villarreal.

“All of us are angry – me, the players, the fans – the fact our results are undeserved is one thing but for so many late blows…it makes it tougher, but we have analysed those games and we will move on.

“We must improve our focus and concentration as too many times recently we have lost those qualities in the vital moments late in games.

“Criticism from fans? We understand the passions of football but as a Coach you must try and separate yourself from that, self-criticise, analyse and improve and that’s what we are focusing on.”
