Lucho: Squads win titles

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique says “squads win titles”, Paco Alcacer “was superb”, Rafinha will miss “a few weeks” and “I hope Neymar scores another 900 goals”.

Enrique was speaking after Barca’s 4-1 win against Granada on Sunday, which was won by a Lionel Messi-less Blaugrana, with Alcacer getting on the scoresheet and Neymar netting his 100th goal for the club, although Rafinha was forced off with a knee injury.

“The result did justice to what was seen in 90 minutes,” explained the Coach.

“The moment they equalised, difficulties appeared, but the team continued to believe.

“I’m very happy, especially after the international break, with many players who travelled and changed time zones. It was a great response from the team.

“Alcacer? It was the first time we used him on the wing and he had the opportunity to show that he was a great player, something we already knew.

“He’s a great professional, always helping and creating positive things for the team.

“I’m happy with his performance, goal and involvement. He’s always been ready for the minutes he’s got.

“Today he got more than usual and was superb, he participated in the team’s goals, gave assists and was a continuous thorn for Granada.

“Rafinha’s injury? It’s unpleasant news and we’re waiting to hear about its severity. It’s a big loss for us and it’s sad.

“He’s yet to be seen by doctors, but [the injury] is going to impede him for a few weeks.

“Still, squads are the things that win Leagues. It’s clear that we’d like to have everyone available, but we have to offset the losses with a squad like the one we have. Squads win titles.

“Neymar’s 100th goal for Barca? These are numbers within reach of a beastly player, one of the biggest difference-makers in the world.

“His signing has been a great success for this club and he also wanted to join Barca. I hope he scores another 900 so we can enjoy him for many more years.”
