‘Media invent things’ – Isco

Real Madrid playmaker Isco has played down rumours he could leave the club for Barcelona by stating the ‘media have to invent things’.

Isco’s contract at the Bernabeu expires in June 2018 and RAC1 reported last week that the player had been offered €20m by the Blaugrana to let his contract run down and join them next summer.

"We players are used to rumours, especially when there is less football during the international break, but I don't know why some media have to invent things,” Isco is quoted as saying by AS.

"I speak on the pitch and try to do the best I can for my team."

Marca have since reported Los Blancos have since offered the midfielder a new renewal on his deal although it’s not yet clear if the former Malaga star will accept.

Isco’s future could be linked with Madrid’s transfer activity this summer, with the futures of him, Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez all unclear as the club reportedly plans to sign Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
