Las Palmas midfielder Roque Mesa is reported being lined up by Liverpool to replace Emre Can, claim reports in Spain.

Marca states Jurgen Klopp’s side have been scouting the holding midfielder extensively recently while Premier League rivals Everton and Tottenham are also interested, alongside Bayern Munich.

The 27-year-old has emerged as one of La Liga’s highly rated midfielders in the past twelve months for his ball-winning attributes and is reportedly being monitored by Julen Lopetegui for his first ever call-up to the Spanish national side.

Sevilla had reportedly agreed personal terms for the Canarian last summer but the move broke down over the transfer fee involved, with the Andalucians refusing to go above €8m for the deal.

Mesa does have a €30m release clause in his contract but the club are reportedly willing to negotiate for any fee in excess of €10m.
