Valencia and Sporting Gijon will be looking to bounce back from defeats when they lock horns in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Despite a run of three wins in five games, Valencia were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Atletico Madrid last weekend.
“Our objective is close, but only [a win] will achieve it,” Coach Voro Gonzalez said at a Press conference.
“Whatever happens next is coming. For now, we’ll talk about the present, which is this game.
“We’re focused on not losing perspective. We’re going day to day. Let speculation about [future] names go on, I’m ignoring it.”
Los Che are almost full-strength, with only Enzo Perez suspended, Rodrigo Moreno a certain casualty and Luis Nani a 50-50 shout.
Sporting, meanwhile, have fallen seven points adrift of safety in La Liga, their appointment of Rubi as Coach only yielding one win thus far.
“It’s clear that we really need a win,” the trainer told reporters.
“The team haven’t been lucky in terms of what they’ve deserved. I’m working very much at ease.
“I have a squad with players that are doing everything that is asked of them. There are players who have greatly improved their level.”
The Asturians travelled to Mestalla without key personnel Fernando Amorebieta and Moi Gomez, so their places are likely to be taken by Jean-Sylvain Babin and Nacho Cases.
