FIFA uphold Sevilla fine

FIFA have upheld a fine for Sevilla under third party ownership rules after the club’s appeal against the decision was rejected.

The Andalucians were fined 55,000 Swiss Francs (€51,500) in May last year along with Brazilian club Santos and Dutch side FC Twente and their appeal against the decision has been rejected.

FIFA also issued Los Rojiblancos a warning for “breaching article  18bis of the Regulations as well as article 4 paragraph 2 of Annexe 3 of the Regulations.”

Football’s ban on third party ownership has been in place since January 1 2008 and was updated in May 2015.
