Setien ‘confident’ despite results

Las Palmas boss Quique Setien is convinced his side will put their recent run of poor results behind them as they take on Real Sociedad on Friday night.

Los Amarillos have lost three consecutive league games and have won only one of their last six in La Liga, but the 58-year-old believes the ‘good mood’ within the squad is indicative of their strengths.

“We have not lost sight of our goal despite recent results, the mood in the camp is good and we are excited going forward,” Setien told his pre-match press conference.

“The next two games against La Real and Real Madrid are very tough but we have absolute faith we can get positive results to continue our strong season.

“Real Sociedad are so dangerous as they have clear ideas, clear tactics, quality players and a fantastic manager and you only need to look at the league table to see their success.

“We will freshen up our eleven (from the defeat at Malaga) not by way of punishing those left out but we must improve our performance and we have worked on ideas around doing so.”
