Escudero signs new Sevilla deal

Sevilla full-back Sergio Escudero is set to sign a two-year extension to his contract which will see him remain at the club until 2021.

Whilst the Andalucian side are yet to officially announce the deal, a number of Spanish outlets including Marca, Mundo Deportivo and ABC have all reported the 27-year-old has agreed to commit his future to the club.

The 27-year-old moved to Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan in the summer of 2015 following two seasons at Getafe and has ousted Benoit Tremoulinas as first choice left-back at the club.

Whilst uncapped at international level, the Valladolid-native received his first call-up to the national team squad for November’s fixtures against Macedonia and England by Julen Lopetegui.

That call-up was widely viewed as fully merited following a string of fine performances by Escudero for Los Rojiblancos.
