Alves angles for Barca return?

Dani Alves regrets leaving Barcelona last year and wants to push for a summer return from Juventus, according to reports in Spain.

The 33-year-old joined the Bianconeri last June as his contract at Camp Nou included a clause that he could activate his departure, allowing him to leave on a free transfer.

However, Catalan newspaper El Mundo Deportivo claim the Brazilian is now keen for a return to Barca as he prefers the club's style of play and the climate in the Catalan capital compared to colder Turin.

Barca are seeking to strengthen their right-back position, having never replaced Alves last summer – Aleix Vidal's long-term lay-off means Sergi Roberto is the only right-back in the squad, and even he has been repositioned from midfield.

It is perhaps a surprising story that the former Sevilla full-back's entourage contacted the Blaugrana regarding a return, as earlier this week he publicly criticised the club's handling of players.
