Sampaoli: Our lives for Leicester

Jorge Sampaoli has warned Leicester City that Sevilla “will play for our lives” in Wednesday’s Champions League last-16 first leg.

Sevilla host Leicester as heavy favourites, with the Andalusians beating Eibar 2-0 on Saturday to tighten their grip on third place in La Liga and the Premier League champions suffering one of the worst title defences known.

“Eibar made life very difficult for us, they didn’t allow us to play,” the Coach said after the game.

“When you can’t play, your physical efforts are multiplied. All the phases of play in the game were runs.

“We had six or seven chances, but when Sevilla don’t play, they don’t defend themselves with the ball, making these games very complex.

“We’ll play for our lives on Wednesday, for the club. It'll be a very decisive game in the club’s history.

“We must only think about this, playing an extremely demanding game and going to England with the advantage.”
