Police in Madrid have arrived at the hotel Diego Maradona is staying in to question the former football star over an alleged assault on a woman.
The manager of the Eurostars Mirasierra – the hotel in the north of the Spanish capital where the Argentine is staying – called the authorities to report the incident, with officers arriving at the establishment at 8.20am CET.
The former Barcelona and Sevilla star, who is currently in Spain to watch Napoli take on Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, was questioned by the police but it is reported by Cadena Ser that the woman – thought to be his girlfriend – has not filed an official complaint and did not wish to be examined.
