Jorge Sampaoli insists Sevilla will be ready to put their dip in form behind them when they take on Las Palmas on Sunday.
Sevilla have fallen to third in La Liga after losing and drawing each of their last two games, but Sampaoli made it clear the Andalusians were travelling to Gran Canaria “with the aim of recovering dropped points and maintaining our idea of football”.
“We’re travelling with the aim of recovering dropped points and maintaining our idea of football, despite the results of our last two games not being as we expected,” the Coach said at a Press conference.
“Las Palmas? They did very well whenever they played their game in the first round of the season, plus they’re unbeaten at home so it’s a pleasure to play against a team with their taste for football.
“I’m convinced that Jese will be a player that consolidates Las Palmas because, in addition to the qualities he has, he’s linked to his club [via his background] and that gives him a greater responsibility.
“Bad results usually cause a lack of consistency, but that hasn’t happened here because our idea remains the same, even if unfavourable circumstances occurred in our last two games.
“Nasri? Being able to count on him is crucial. Escudero? His physical condition isn’t good.”
