‘No place like home’ for Jese – Setien

Las Palmas boss Quique Setien repeated the old adage ‘there is no place like home’ ahead of Jese returning to his boyhood club from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 23-year-old is set to arrive on loan from the French champions for the remainder of the season on the final day of the January transfer window to continue the feel-good mood around the club following their 3-1 Monday night victory over Valencia.

"There is no better place than home for Jese to regain self-esteem," explained Setien after the match.

“He is a great player – he will add a lot for us and will be a big boost for the rest of the campaign.”

Speaking in regards to the match itself, the Las Palmas boss believed it was a ‘complicated’ encounter and he was ‘relieved’ to end up with three points.

“The victory tonight was really all that mattered because we needed to maintain our momentum against a side who picked up back-to-back victories which is never easy,” Setien continued.

“It was great for Alen (Halilovic) to be able to come on and make his debut and with Jese arriving too we now have more depth in our attacking options.”
