Zinedine Zidane insists Real Madrid deserve to be “congratulated” for their performance against Celta Vigo, despite their Copa del Rey elimination.
Madrid went down 4-3 on aggregate after a 2-2 draw at Celta on Wednesday, but Zidane maintained his side “did everything” to overturn their deficit.
“We did everything. I must congratulate the lads on how they played,” the Coach said after the game.
“Nothing came [of our efforts], but we tried.
“Casemiro at centre-back? We had to do something. We had a fantastic half-hour in the first half and it was a shame that they got the first goal.
“What happens next? We must keep going and think about the League and Champions League.”
