Ronaldinho to make Barca return?

Ronaldinho is close to completing a return to Barcelona in an ambassadorial role and as a member of the club's veteran squad, say reports in Spain.

Mundo Deportivo say the 36-year-old will negotiate his return to the Camp Nou through his brother Roberto de Assis to allow him to act as an ambassador for the Blaugrana on a global stage and join the Barca legends team.

The Catalan outlet reports a meeting with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu will take place on Thursday in the club’s offices following on from discussions in October after the Catalans opened a commercial office in New York.

The Brazilian reportedly turned down the chance to sign for Coritiba, which would have seen him reunited with former Barca teammate Julian Belletti, with whom he won the 2006 Champions League.

Ronaldinho spent five seasons at Camp Nou, making over 200 appearances and scoring 94 goals.
