Atleti’s Vrsaljko wanted by Inter

Inter Milan want to sign Sime Vrsaljko after losing out to Atletico Madrid in the summer race for the former Sassuolo player, according to reports in Spain.

Mundo Deportivo report the Nerazzurri are keen on reigniting their interest in the Croatian full-back, although the fact Los Rojiblancos are facing a summer transfer ban – pending an appeal – and the fact he is becoming an increasingly important part of Diego Simeone’s side.

The 25-year-old impressed during Euro 2016 and was brought into the Calderon to provide competition to Juanfran at right-back, although the experienced Spaniard has been frequently brought further forward into midfield this season.

Vrsaljko has started only five La Liga fixtures this season for Atleti but that figure includes the last four consecutive games, within which Simeone’s men have dropped only two points.
