Enrique: ‘Nobody like Iniesta’

Barcelona Coach Luis Enrique concedes it is impossible to replace Andres Iniesta as there is nobody like him in football.

The Camp Nou side will line-up at Eibar today without their midfield maestro, who is out with a calf injury.

"Nobody is like Iniesta," admitted Enrique at the Press conference to preview the trip to the Basque country. "Not in the squad, nor in world football. That is the problem.

"I have very good players in that position, but I have never seen anyone in the world who is like Iniesta.

"He has only completed six matches this year because I change him whenever I see the chance to give him a rest. I am trying to manage the minutes he has."

The Blaugrana boss added that despite Iniesta's absence, his team's style of play will not change at all.

"It doesn't change our approach at all. Regardless of the players we have, we always have the same aim.

"We have been looking for a long streak of good results all season but it hasn't happened. Hopefully it will come now.

"We need consecutive wins in LaLiga in order to put the pressure on.

"I can't guarantee that we are the most in-form team. Since we came back in 2017, despite the first results not being those that we deserved, I am very happy with the performances."

Enrique was then asked what he expects from an Eibar team who have once again defied expectations this season.

"Listening to Mendilibar, it seems clear they will be true to what has got them where they are in the League.

"The always pose problems, they are good with the ball and well positioned. Hopefully the weather will allow it to be a good game."
