Flores convinced by Espanyol

Espanyol Coach Quique Sanchez Flores believes his team are going in the right direction despite recent results.

The Catalan side have not won since 11th December and were beaten 2-1 by struggling Valencia in their most recent League encounter.

"The feeling exists that we are growing," Flores said as he prepares his players to face second-bottom Granada. "We have concrete projects and we are going to depend on results as far as judgement from the outside goes.

"If we win [against Granada], they will see us as fighting for Europe, but if the opposite happens they will say it's the same as always.

"We are still a long way from having a stable project.

"Every game is there to win and to do well. We weren't pleased by the last match, we must not repeat the performance.

"We need to understand that what happened at the Mestalla was a mistake and cannot be repeated."

Forward Felipe Caicedo is being heavily linked with a move away from the Estadio Cornella-El Prat, with Flores admitting the Ecuadorian probably will leave.

"He didn't train because he is weak from a cold. There was no chance he would be included.

"Anything could happen. If he stays he will be another body and if he goes, it will be because he prefers to be happy somewhere else. He will probably leave."
