Real Madrid full-back Dani Carvajal is facing a race against time to be fit for his side’s Champions League last 16 first leg clash with Napoli.
The Spanish international is set for approximately a month on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury after suffering the injury in training on Tuesday, and is set to miss the league fixtures with Malaga, Real Sociedad, Celta Vigo, Osasuna and Espanyol.
The 25-year-old could potentially miss a total of ten Real Madrid games: five in LaLiga, four in the Copa del Rey (if they progress past Celta) and one in Europe.
Brazilian Danilo is the favourite to fill in at right-back in Carvajal’s absence, although they could potentially play Nacho or Sergio Ramos in that position, despite both naturally being central defenders.
