Zaza plans long-term Valencia stay

New Valencia striker Simone Zaza has confirmed he wants to sign for the club on a deal beyond the current season as he hopes to get his career back on track.

The 25-year-old failed to score during a loan spell at West Ham United earlier in the season which was subsequently cut short as he returned to Juventus, but he has joined Los Che on a loan deal until the end of the campaign.

“I am looking forward to playing here and not for just six months. I like the city and the people,” Zaza explained at his introductory press conference on Monday.

“Yesterday I went to Mestalla for the first time. I knew there would be a good atmosphere but it was incredible.

“I wanted to come here and play for Valencia and I want to score as many goals as possible.

“I have confidence in this team. There are a lot of strong players and I think that we can do well.

“Physically I am fine, I have to work and improve. There were not many shirt numbers available and I chose 12.”
