Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has called out Sevilla fans for the negative reception they gave Sergio Ramos in the Copa del Rey on Thursday.
Ramos was subjected to insulting chants by Sevilla supporters during the game, more so after he scored a Panenka penalty and cupped his ears to the crowd in celebration.
“Booing for Ramos? I can’t be happy with that and neither can he, but we can’t avoid it,” the Madrid Coach said after the 3-3 draw.
“He didn’t do anything important, he played his game, he’s not happy because he used to play here, he’s from here, and he’s certainly hurt by it.
“Now we have to be aware that these things can happen and I’m not happy for his family either.
“The record? [Sevilla] probably deserved more, but after the first goal we relaxed a little.
“At the end, we thought we could get the draw and we did, but I think overall we deserved to go through.
“Sunday’s rematch? I think that we suffered a lot here, they were quick in everything they did, and with the players they have and fans that make a lot of noise, it’ll be another game with a lot of suffering.
“They’re second in the table for a reason. We’ll see what Sunday’s game will be like, but we’ll suffer again for sure.”
