Mariano Diaz replaces Cristiano Ronaldo for a second-string Real Madrid against Sevilla, who bench Samir Nasri and are without Steven N’Zonzi.
Elsewhere in Madrid’s XI, Danilo replaces Dani Carvajal at right-back, Sergio Ramos returns to central defence, Marco Asensio is preferred to James Rodriguez and Isco – both of whom are overlooked – and supplementing Mariano out wide in support of Alvaro Morata is Lucas Vazquez.
Sevilla, meanwhile, name an attacking line-up, with Luciano Vietto and Wissam Ben Yedder and Luciano Vietto strike partners.
New boys Stevan Jovetic and Mathieu Lenglet are also included, with the latter starting alongside Adil Rami and Gabriel Mercado in a three-man backline.
However, Nasri is only a substitute, N’Zonzi is nowhere to be seen and Salvatore Sirigu’s career at Sanchez Pizjuan looks to be over after being ignored for third-choice goalkeeper David Soria in the absence of Sergio Rico.
