Vallejo ‘may not return’ to RM

Jesus Vallejo, on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Real Madrid, has had no contact from Zinedine Zidane and may not return to the Bernabeu this summer.

The 20-year-old has shone in the Bundesliga since his season-long summer move last summer with reports last month in Marca indicating Los Blancos consider him as the long-term replacement for Pepe, who may yet leave for China.

"Until now, I've had no contact with Zidane, neither on the phone or in person,” revealed Vallejo in Frankfurter Rundschau.

“The closest contact between both clubs is the one between the athletics and rehab coaches because they coordinate and exchange information regarding form and development."

"Real ask about my performances and Eintracht answer," and that "it could happen that someone from Real's scouting department comes to Frankfurt to get direct info."

"I can't really say anything about it now," Vallejo said. "It's not confirmed that I have to go back. Real are not obliged to do something now, maybe they only do something in June.

"What the club does: They advise players what's good for their short-term future. I don't waste a lot of thoughts on what could happen until the summer. I live in the here and now."

The central defender has never made a senior appearance for Madrid since joining them from Real Zaragoza last season, but previously admitted it is his burning desire to establish himself as a regular at the Bernabeu.
