Pique blasts officiating decisions

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique believes his side were denied two clear penalties as they were held to a draw by Villarreal on Sunday night.

There were three big penalty shouts during the game – Bruno Soriano appeared to handle the ball twice inside his own penalty area while Barcelona had a let-off of their own as Javier Mascherano’s handball in his area was also not spotted.

"There were two clear handballs by Bruno," an enraged Pique told reporters after the game.

"They were clear. I've also seen the one by Mascherano, but if we are talking about intentions.

"I still think the same as the other day in Bilbao; let them analyse my comments and waste time with that, that's their right.

"Every week they give more reason to what I said (after Athletic). You can see for yourselves the decisions. It's crystal clear what's happened on the pitch today."

TV cameras appeared to pick up the former Manchester United defender shouting to La Liga president Javier Tebas in the stands to ask him if he’d seen the decisions which had gone against the Blaugrana.

“The person I said it to knew that it was for them. Everyone doesn't have to know who they were for," continued the 29-year-old, as he denied who his words were aimed at.

Barca closed the gap on leaders Real Madrid to five points although Los Blancos now have a game in hand, while Sevilla have leapfrogged Luis Enrique’s side into second spot.
