Sampaoli delighted with Sevllla response

Jorge Sampaoli expressed his delight with Sevilla’s 4-0 victory over Real Sociedad as “we responded to our bad first half against Real Madrid”.

Wissam Ben Yedder and Pablo Sarabia were substitutes at the Santiago Bernabeu but returned to the Sevilla side by scoring all four goals against La Real, the former helping himself to a hat-trick, to push the Andalusians up to second in La Liga.

“We responded to our bad first half against Real Madrid in the Copa,” the Coach said after the game.

“La Real remain a direct rival for the rest of the season. The truth is that today, my team found the things they showed against, for example, Celta or Malaga.

“If we didn’t defend as we did, La Real would have made the differences they made against teams that didn’t do what we did.

“I’m very happy to be second in a League that’s been geared for three teams.

“We must face Madrid like [we faced La Real] today. [Madrid] are a team that score with each chance. They’re a top team.”
