Voro takes Valencia reins

Suso Pitarch has confirmed that Voro Gonzalez will be in charge of Valencia for the foreseeable future as “no-one has asked me” to find a new Coach.

Matchday delegate Voro is set to embark on his fifth spell as Valencia caretaker after Cesare Prandelli’s sudden exit, and their former defender boasts an impressive overall record, with eight wins and just two defeats in 11 games.

“Now, the idea is for Voro to take the team forward,” the sporting director said in the second half of his Press conference.

“We’re not looking for a Coach at the moment, no-one has asked me. We’ll talk to Voro to see the needs of this team.

“I haven’t spoken to Peter Lim, but now we start from zero in sporting decisions and Voro’s opinion is very important.

“The squad have already shown their great relationship with Voro and we hope it continues.

“[B Coach and former defender] Curro Torres was also considered, but Voro has more experience in these circumstances.

“Valencianismo isn’t going to end, but we must support it, that feeling.”
