Espanyol to sell Caicedo?

Espanyol would consider selling striker Filipe Caicedo in the January transfer market if the offer was right, the club’s sporting director has said.

Jordi Lardin would sanction the transfer of the Ecuadorian striker who has a €10m release clause in his contract and after only one goal in five starts this campaign, he is reportedly the subject of interest from China.

"Caicedo is one of our players and if he comes and tells us that he has an offer, we would evaluate it and if it's good, we would try to reach an agreement,” Lardin confirmed to Marca.

"In that case, there is little we can do. We don't want any player to be unhappy and if he decides that an offer is acceptable and attractive and he passes it on to us, we will consider it. But right now, we have none on the table.

"We are confident that he will recover his form and deliver goals for the group.”

The former Manchester City striker has hit double figures for the Catalans in each of his two campaigns at the club after joining from United Arab Emirates side Al Jazira Club in 2014.
