Turan dismisses China speculation

Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan has dismissed reports he could be set to leave the club for China by stating he is ‘very happy’ at the Camp Nou.

Media reports suggested the Turkish midfielder was the subject of interest from Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande (http://www.football-espana.net/62224/turan-lured-china) but the 29-year-old believes this is just paper talk and he does not want to leave the Catalans.

"I read about the offers from China from the papers. It's how these things work. Clubs might be talking," Turan told Turkey's NTV Spor.

"I am very happy in Barcelona. I have a contract until the age of 33. I am in the greatest club of the world. What more can I say?

"I believe I am an important piece in Barcelona's squad. I try to do my best – I think my performance is the proof of it."

Turan has proved influential for Luis Enrique’s side this season, netting ten goals after making his debut for the club in January.
