Real Sociedad right-back Carlos Martinez will miss the rest of the season after tearing knee ligaments during Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Granada in La Liga.
Martinez pulled up an hour into the win at Los Carmenes, and a medical report on La Real’s official website subsequently confirmed ACL damage for the 30-year-old.
The defender’s season did not start until mid-October due to hamstring problems, but he did not miss a single minute of the Basques’ next 10 games.
Los Txuirurdin have also announced that they will publish an “extensive review” of those residing on their treatment table on Thursday, namely Imanol Agirretxe, Markel Bergara, Asier Illarramendi, Esteban Granero and Jon Bautista.
