Real Madrid could look to sell James Rodriguez in the January transfer window after comments that he was not happy at the club.

The Colombian spoke to Marca after Sunday’s Club World Cup final victory over Kashima Antlers to state he was unhappy at his lack of playing time at the Bernabeu and suggested it was time for him to move club. (http://www.football-espana.net/62145/james-i-could-leave-madrid)

"I want to play more. I am happy here, everybody around me too, I like the city,” he is quoted as saying by Marca after the game.

"But if I am not playing, I must think about it all and look for a way out."

However, his comments have reportedly angered the executives at the club who could look to sell the 25-year-old as early as next month.

Since Zinedine Zidane’s arrival to the club in January, he has stressed the need for team spirit and cohesion with all members of the squad being happy with their role, with James – signed by Madrid from Monaco after the 2014 World Cup – the first to break ranks.

"I'm not one to comment on James Rodriguez's personal situation, but today was a day to be happy and satisfied, not to focus on other matters," captain Sergio Ramos told reporters in the mixed zone after the victory over Kashima Antlers.

The former Porto playmaker has been linked to Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter and Arsenal over the past months.
