Real Sociedad have been dealt a blow with the news that Willian Jose will miss Saturday’s trip to Granada due to an ankle injury.
Willian Jose failed a fitness test before the game, the striker still carrying the knock in his left ankle from last week’s 3-2 win against Valencia, and he is set to be replaced by Juanmi.
The Brazilian is La Real’s top scorer this season with nine La Liga goals, but Coach Eusebio Sacristan believes the side’s fortunes depend beyond how they cope without the forward.
“We’ve already been warned,” he said at a Press conference, referring to the Basques’ heavy 5-1 defeat to Deportivo La Coruna a fortnight ago.
“We have two very important games and we’re very focused. If we don’t do things well, we’ll have problems in both games.
“Granada are a team that will want to take both control and the initiative.
“They’re a very physical team, who will force us to be very focused and give our maximum in order to get something positive.”
