Valencia condemn ‘unacceptable’ violence

Valencia have condemned a group of supporters for attacking their team bus and insulting players at their training ground in the wake of their latest defeat.

Los Che crashed to a 3-2 defeat at Real Sociedad on Saturday to make it eight league games without a win and leave them above the relegation zone on goal difference only, with members of fan group Yomus waiting at the club's training ground in Paterna on Saturday evening for the side’s return.

"There is no justification for the violent attack by a group of ultras, who identify themselves as Ultra Yomus, carried out yesterday at the Ciudad Deportiva,” read a Valencia statement.

“Insults and threats to players and staff, attacks with kicks and punches to vehicles and a generally violent attitude are unacceptable.

"This radical group, who identify themselves as Yomus, are not representative of our fanbase and their actions should not be identified as those of the great Valencia CF fans – the immense majority of which express exemplary, civil conduct.

“The club are perfectly aware of the delicate sporting situation in which we find ourselves. Everybody at the club is affected by the current run of results."

A video posted by Marca showed the violent footage of fans with flares attacking the team bus, while Cesare Prandelli’s future as club manager is in doubt despite only taking over the club in October following the dismissal of Pako Ayesteran.
