Lucho relieved after ‘must-win’

Luis Enrique admits “only a win was enough” for Barcelona to put pressure on Real Madrid after their 3-0 victory over Osasuna on Saturday.

Goals from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi (x2) gave Barca an ultimately-comfortable – and much-needed – win to not only end a run of three straight draws but also move them to within three points of La Liga leaders Madrid.

“We were very complete in the first half and only lacked the goal, but we managed to wear them down. We were far superior in every way,” the Coach said after the match.

“It’s clear that for us to have put pressure on Real Madrid, only a win was enough.

“Sergio Busquets was focal to our game, Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba were two full-backs who gave us breadth and depth.

“Andre Gomes starting five of the last six games? What do you mean, that it’s time for him to rest?

“At first, the pitch was good, but gradually it deteriorated because of the moisture, and that stopped us from being precise in some phases of play.

“Still, Osasuna had their chances and some very good counterattacks.”
