Atleti, Chelsea want Napoli’s Ghoulam

Atletico Madrid and Chelsea are set to go head-to-head in a battle for Napoli's Algerian full-back Faouzi Ghoulam, according to reports.

The French-born left-back has won 29 caps for Algeria – netting five times – and is reportedly high on the radar of Los Rojiblancos, who could face stiff competition from Antonio Conte's side according to Calciomercato.

The 25-year-old's current deal in Naples expires in the summer of 2018, leading to reports he could be sold at a reduced price of €13m in the January transfer window.

Atleti reportedly sent their director of sport to watch Ghoulam in Friday night's 3-1 Serie A victory over Inter Milan, fuelling the rumours that they are lining up a move.

However, Brazilian full-back Filipe Luis has cemented his place in Diego Simeone's side this season and promising French defender Lucas Hernandez has proved an able deputy for Atletico, despite his natural position being centre-half.
